The Watchtower denies what the Bible teaches, that Jesus is God, especially not God the Son, second Person of the trinity. Mark 10: 17,18 is one passage they use as a proof text to support this doctrine. Let’s look at it in the Watchtower’s New World Translation (NWT):
17 As he was going on his way, a man ran up and fell on his knees before him and put the question to him: “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit everlasting life?” 18 Jesus said to him: “Why do you call me good? Nobody is good except one, God. (NWT, 2013)
The Watchtower wants us to believe Jesus is denying that He is God in this passage. He isn’t. He’s just testing the man who asked the question. If a Jehovah’s Witness brings this up, you might ask him or her if Jesus is not good.
