Bow Down to Jesus

The Bible tells us constantly that we are to worship no one but the one true God:

Deuteronomy 8:19-20 (ESV)
19  And if you forget the LORD your God and go after other gods and serve them and worship them, I solemnly warn you today that you shall surely perish.
20  Like the nations that the LORD makes to perish before you, so shall you perish, because you would not obey the voice of the LORD your God.

Joshua 23:16 (ESV)
16  if you transgress the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods and bow down to them. Then the anger of the LORD will be kindled against you, and you shall perish quickly from off the good land that he has given to you.”

2 Kings 17:35 (ESV)
35  The LORD made a covenant with them and commanded them, “You shall not fear other gods or bow yourselves to them or serve them or sacrifice to them,

Jeremiah 13:10 (ESV)
10  This evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who stubbornly follow their own heart and have gone after other gods to serve them and worship them, shall be like this loincloth, which is good for nothing.

Yet, throughout Scripture, we see people worshipping those which are not, by nature, God.  Note that in each case, they are rebuked:

John is Rebuked

Revelation 19:10 (ESV)
10  Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.” For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Revelation 22:8-9 (ESV)
8  I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me,
9  but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.”

Cornelius Rebuked:

Acts 10:25-26 (ESV)
25  When Peter entered, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him.
26  But Peter lifted him up, saying, “Stand up; I too am a man.”

Yet, Jesus did not rebuke those who worshipped Him

Mark 5:6 (ESV)
6  And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and fell down before him.

John 20:28-29 (ESV)
28  Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”
29  Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Jesus rightfully received worship.  In fact, although Jesus told Satan (an angel) only God was to be worshipped, God Himself directed the angels to worship Jesus:

Hebrews 1:6 (ESV)
6  And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God’s angels worship him.”

The conclusion should be that Jesus was deserving of the worship of men and of angels.  This would imply that Jesus is the one true God.
